The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Oklahoma, had receipts of 5,086 head of cattle selling June 6, compared to 5,076 head a week ago and 5,146 head a year ago, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

When compared to a week ago, the feeder steers were steady to $3 lower with the exception of stock from 950 to 1050 pounds, which were steady to $2 higher. The feeder heifers from 600 to 750 pounds were trading steady with the balance steady to $3 higher. The steer and heifer calves were lightly tested with a sharply lower undertone noted. The quality was average to attractive with a handful of calves right off the cow on offer. The demand was good. Showers and storms continued throughout the day with warnings of flooding across the trade area. The supply included 100% feeder cattle with 65% steers, 34% were heifers and 1% were bulls. The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 89%.
