The Tulia Livestock Auction, Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 1,849 head of cattle selling June 6, compared to 1,669 head a week ago and 2,126 head a year ago, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agricuture Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

When compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling steady to $3 lower. Trade activity was moderate on moderate to good demand. Thunderstorms throughout the week dumped several inches of rain and brought damaging winds. The slaughter cows and bulls were trading mostly steady with instances of $3 lower. The supply included 97% feeder cattle with about 52% steers, 46% were heifers and 1% were bulls; 3% was slaughter cattle with 89% cows and 11% were bulls; and 0% was replacement cattle with 33% bred cows and 67% were cow-calf pairs. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 84%.
