The OKC West Livestock Auction, El Reno, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 9,766 head of cattle selling June 12, compared to 8,150 head the previous week, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

When compared to a week ago the feeder steers and heifers weighing over 800 pounds were selling $5 to $6 higher. The lighter weights were not well tested the previous week for an accurate trend but a higher undertone was noted. The demand was good. The steer and heifer calves were trading mostly steady on limited comparable offerings. The demand was moderate and the quality was plain to average with a few attractive. Heavy rainfall across the state has hampered livestock movement. The supply included 100% feeder cattle with 58% steers, 41% was heifers and 1% was bulls. The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 86%.
