The McAlester Union Livestock Auction, McAlester, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,725 head of cattle selling June 11 compared to 2,875 head a week ago, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, the steer calves were selling $2 to $7 higher. The heifer calves were selling $3 to $5 higher. The demand was moderate to good. The quality was average through attractive, with large groups of attractive calves. The slaughter cows steady. The slaughter bulls were selling $2 higher. A total of 375 cows and bulls was sold with 59% going to packers. The supply included 86% feeder cattle with 51% steers, 37% were heifers and 12% were bulls; 8% was slaughter cattle with 83% cows and 17% were bulls; and 6% was replacement cattle with 52% bred cows and 48% were cow-calf pairs). The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 28%.
