Compared to last week, cash bids for corn, sorghum, soybeans and wheat were higher according to USDA reported prices, Aug. 25.

For the week ending Aug. 20, a decrease of 183,220 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 226,346 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a increase of 74,913 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported an decrease of 13,577 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Aug. 14, reported a slight increase at 926,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was 9 to 16 cents higher. Corn was up 8 1/2 to 11 1/2 cents. Sorghum was 9 cents higher. Soybeans were 8 1/2 to 16 1/4 cents higher.

In the futures close, Kansas City September wheat was $4.44 1/4.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.59 1/4 to $4.69 1/4, up 9 cents; Minneapolis, $5.19 1/4, up 9 cents; Portland, $5.20 to $5.42, unchanged to down 15 cents; St. Louis, $5.32 1/4 to $5.62 1/4, up 6 1/2 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.01 3/4 to $3.19 3/4, up 9 cents; Minneapolis, $3.08 3/4 to $3.45 3/4, up 8 1/2 to 11 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $3.33 3/4 to $3.35 3/4, up 9 cents; Omaha, $3 3/4 to $3.12 3/4, up 9 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $8.94 3/4 to $9.08 3/4, up 14 to 13 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $8.81 1/4 to $9.04 1/4, up 8 1/2 to 14 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $9.26 1/4 to $9.31 1/4, up 16 1/2  to 14 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $9.08 1/4 to $9.45 1/4, up 14 1/2 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Aug. 25, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.29 1/4 to $5.39 1/4, up 9 cents; 12% protein, $5.59 1/4 to $5.69 1/4, up 9 cents; 13% protein, $5.69 1/4 to $5.79 1/4, up 2 cents; 14% protein, $5.89 1/4 to $5.79 1/4, up 9 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
