The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported 1,194 head of cattle selling June 6, compared to 1,291 head a week ago and 1,589 head a year ago, according to the USDA to Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $2 to $4 lower and feeder heifers were trading steady to $4 lower. There were not enough steer and heifer calves for a market test but a lower undertone was noted. The quality was good to attractive with fair demand. The slaughter cows were selling steady to $3 higher. The slaughter bulls were selling $1 lower. The supply included 86% feeder cattle with 58% steers, 41% were heifers and 1% were bulls; 10% was slaughter cattle with 90% cows, 10% were bulls; and 4% was replacement cattle with 40% bred cows, with 60% cow to calf pairs. The feeder cattle supply weighing over 600 pounds was 79%.
