A striking entry courtyard welcomes family and friends to the Apricot (333-230), a basically C-shaped home that makes good use of natural light throughout.

Chest-high brick walls on both sides of the walkway give an enclosed feeling to the entry courtyard. A gate could be added for full enclosure, if desired. Combining potted plants with artistic landscaping here will create a colorful and inviting outdoor environment that can be enjoyed while walking through it or relaxing on the covered porch.

The family room/kitchen is large and full of light. It’s big enough for a ping-pong or pool table, if either strikes your fancy. A wide closet provides storage for games, card tables, folding chairs and the like.

A curved eating bar supplies generous counter space and minimal separation between the kitchen and family room. Range and oven are built in. Other amenities include a walk-in pantry, garden window, broom closet, and space for an upright freezer next to the refrigerator.

The master suite is a sumptuous adult retreat, well isolated from the hustle and bustle of daily activities in the family room. Luxuries here include a television ledge over one corner of the walk-in closet, a skylit spa tub, an oversized shower, and a second vanity with basin outside the private bathroom. The den could be a home office.

Secondary bedrooms are at the opposite end of the house. The guest suite has a walk-in closet and private bathroom, while the main bathroom serves bedroom two.
