The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, OK, reported receipts of 4,589 head of cattle Sept. 14, compared to 5,237 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, OK.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady, except for 750- to 800-pounds steers were $1 higher. Steer calves were $1 to $3 lower. Feeder heifers and heifer calves were steady. Demand was very good for feeders and good for calves. Quality was average to plain, with end attractive. Fill was average, with few full. The supply included 56% steers and 37% heifers, with 54% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 650 cows and bulls, sold with 47% going to packers.
