The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, OK, reported receipts of 691 head of cattle March 2, compared with 3,186 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, OK.

With wet and muddy conditions produced a very limited supply of feeders. Steer and heifer calves were steady to $2 higher, in a limited test. Fill was average. Quality was average. Supply was comprised 36% steers and 54% heifers, with 28% of the supply over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 205 cows and bulls sold, with 37% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 379 lbs., 130.16; 408 lbs., 125.44; 484 lbs., 115.37; 573 lbs., 103.73; 616 lbs., 102.65; 678 lbs., 95.78; 701 lbs., 94.25. Medium and large frame 2, 266 lbs., thin, 142.48; 424 lbs., 110.93.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 473 lbs., 113.99; 515 lbs., 109.33.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 330 lbs., 120.93; 365 lbs., 117.10; 419 lbs., 115.61; 461 lbs., 105.72; 521 lbs., 95.62; 577 lbs., 91.83; 638 lbs., 87.00; 682 lbs., 84.95; 815 lbs., 7725. Medium and large frame 2, 473 lbs., 96.57.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1850 lbs., 51.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1150 to 1250 lbs., 46.00 to 47.50; high dressing, 48.00 to 50.00. Lean, 85 to 90%, 950 to 1525 lbs., 42.50 to 46.00; high dressing, 47.00 to 49.50; low dressing, 37.50 to 41.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 725 to 825 lbs., 29.50 to 36.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1350 to 2025 lbs., 55.50 to 58.50; high dressing, 60.00; low dressing, 51.50.

Replacement cows: Pre-tested for Bangs, pregnancy and age, 1 to 2 years old, 1025 to 1075 lbs., 6 to 8 months bred, high quality, 770.00 to 850.00; 1 to 2 years old, 894 lbs., 6 to 8 months bred, average quality, 670.00; 5 to 8 years old, 975 to 1250 lbs., 6 to 8 months bred, average quality, 630.00 to 700.00.

Cow-calf pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 5 to 8 years old, 1000 to 1050 lbs., with 100- to 150-lb. calf, average quality, 810.00 to 870.00; 8 to 9 years old, 1000 to 1050 lbs., with 100- to 150-lb. calf, average quality, 760.00 to 770.00.
