South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, reported receipts of 1,825 head of cattle Dec. 15, compared with 1,900 head last week and 2,400 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, SD.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were uneven. Calves that were weaned and had all their shots sold steady to $1 higher, with instances of $2 to $3 higher. Offerings that were not weaned and did not have all their shots were steady to weak. There were not enough yearlings to compare trade. Steers made up approximately 59% and heifers 41% of the run. Feeders included 45% over 600 pounds.

Medium frame 1, 487 lbs., 95.00. Holsteins, large frame 2, 633 lbs., 73.00; 679 lbs., 67.00; 828 lbs., 63.50; 1130 lbs., 61.00.
