South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, reported receipts of 1,950 head of cattle March 1, compared with 1,550 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, SD.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $2 higher. Steers made up 64% and heifers 36% of the run. Total feeders included 87% over 600 pounds.

Small and medium frame 1, 485 lbs., 105.00. Holsteins, large frame 2, 859 lbs., 68.00; 965 lbs., 66.71.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 422 lbs., 105.50; 475 lbs., 102.62; 524 lbs., 95.04; 573 lbs., 92.48; 568 lbs., replacements, 99.84; 626 lbs., 87.17; 687 lbs., 81.89; 722 lbs., 79.86; 776 lbs., 78.03; 832 lbs., 74.85.
