LONDON (B)--United Kingdom farmers' total net income is seen falling 16% for the year ending February 2000 compared with the year earlier period, according to a survey released by the Agriculture Ministry Jan. 31.

Provisional forecasts from the ministry's Farm Business Survey peg the total income figure for 1999-2000 at 6,000 stlg per annum for all types of farm, excluding horticulture.

The survey also estimates that cash incomes over the period will have fallen by 12%. At the same time, the ministry also said that total income from farming, which represents the income to farmers, partners, directors and their spouses, fell 1.2% in 1999 on the year.
