Wabaunsee County Family and Community Educators and K-State Research and Extension will host Spring Expo 2001, March 20, at the Baptist Church, in Alta Vista.

The expo will begin with registration and social time, at 9:30 a.m. The program will follow, with Cathy Ambler, Topeka, with the presentation, "Why Save the Past?: Communities and Historic Preservation."

She holds a PhD in American studies, from the University of Kansas, and a master's degree in historical administration and museum studies. She is the assistant division director for Cultural Resources with the Kansas State Historical Society.

A light pot luck luncheon, awards and recognition and door prize drawing will conclude Spring Expo 2001.

The expo is open to anyone yearning to learn more about the world around them. It also is a terrific time to make new friends and renew old acquaintances.
