"2000 Smiles an Hour" can be seen at the Missouri State Fair, where special deals abound, in Sedalia.

With so many specials to offer, fairgoers are sure to find at least one way to receive super savings.

Carnival specials will please kids and parents on the Midway this year. The MEGA 15 wristband, available every day, is good for 15 carnival rides and can be purchased for $15 at any Midway ticket booth. The Children's Miracle Network wristband includes an unlimited carnival ride wristband and adult gate admission. Get a coupon for just $14 at participating Wal-Mart and Sam's Club Stores. Coupons can be redeemed at admission gates and Midway ticket booths. For every CMN wristband purchased, $2 will be donated to the Children's' Miracle Network.

Discounts abound on Farm Family and Farm Bureau Day, Monday, Aug. 14. Farm Bureau and official "Farm Family" visitors will receive $1 off admission, free parking and $3 off a MEGA 15 carnival ride wristband. Coupons can be picked up at any Farm Bureau location. Truck and tractor pull discounts will also be available.

Start saving those Pepsi bottle caps, because from Aug. 14 to 17, it is "Joy of Cola" Pepsi Nights at the fair. Buy one gate admission after 6 p.m. and receive one free simply by bringing four bottle caps from any 20-ounce Pepsi product, and also receive $3 off a MEGA 15 carnival wristband.

Bring the spouse or bring a friend Aug. 15 for "Two-for-Tuesday." This special day features two-for-one admission after 2 p.m. and valuable concessions discounts all day long. A list of participating vendors will be available at all information booths.

Aug. 16 is a day for the whole family, at the 2000 Missouri State Fair, with Senior Appreciation Day and Subway and Dr. Pepper Day. Senior Appreciation Day is jam packed with events for everyone, from the young to the young at heart. Compete in the Grandparent-Grandchild Look-a-Like Contest or watch the waltz competition. Seniors 60 and over, with ID get $1 off admission and free parking, plus free tram rides throughout the fairgrounds, courtesy of Bothwell Regional Healthcare Center. For the rest of the family, stop by a participating Subway and pick up a coupon for $1 off admission, free parking and $3 off a MEGA 15 carnival ride wristband. With deals like this, everyone is sure to smile.

The Traditional Ham Breakfast kicks of Governor's, Legislators' and Judges' Day, Thursday, Aug. 17. The pace is fast and furious as the grand champion ham and grand champion bacon are auctioned off, at one of the grandest fair events. Tickets for the breakfast are just $15 and include free fair admission and parking.

Youth in Agriculture Day is set for Saturday, Aug. 19. Youths included in agriculture can pick up a coupon at their country Extension office to receive $1 off admission, free parking and a $3 discount on a MEGA 15 carnival ride wristband. The day's highlight will be the Sale of Champions, at 3 p.m., in the Youth Building Sale Arena.

Deaf Awareness Day is scheduled Friday, Aug. 18. Coupons for $1 off admission and free parking will be distributed by the Missouri Commission for the Deaf.

Sunday, Aug. 20, is the Fair Finale, featuring two-for-one gate admission and MEGA 15 carnival wristbands.
