The Sioux Falls sheep auction reported receipts of 450 head Feb. 9, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, SD.

Slaughter lambs were $2 to $8 higher, with the bulk of the advance on heavier weights. Slaughter ewes and feeder lambs were $2 to $4 higher. Supply included nearly 70% slaughter lambs, 20% slaughter ewes and the balance feeder lambs.

Slaughter lambs: Choice, end Prime, 2 to 3, No. 1 to 2 pelts, 136 to 146 lbs., 72.60 to 72.70. Wooled, Choice, end Prime, 2 to 3, 123 to 136 lbs., 67.00 to 69.50; 163 to 169 lbs., 63.25 to 67.60.

Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good, 1 to 2, 41.00 to 47.00. Cull, 37.00 to 39.50.

Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 78 to 81 lbs., 89.00 to 92.00; 90 to 95 lbs., 87.00, 118 lbs., 73.00.
