The Sioux Falls sheep auction reported receipts of 800 head Oct. 8, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, SD.

Slaughter lambs were firm to $1 higher. Slaughter ewes were $2 to $3 higher. Feeder lambs were steady to $2 higher. Supply included 50% slaughter lambs, 24% feeder lambs, 6% slaughter ewes and the balance mostly goats.

Slaughter lambs: Choice, end Prime, 2 to 3, No. 1 to 2 pelts, 132 to 139 lbs., 43.50 to 43.60. Wooled, Choice, end Prime, 2 to 3, 125 to 152 lbs., 40.50 to 42.75.

Slaughter ewes: Few, Utility and Good, 1 to 2, 22.00 to 27.00.

Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 85 lbs., 45.50; 90 to 95 lbs., 40.25 to 41.50; 109 lbs., 44.75.
