The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 4,935 head April 15, compared to 3,530 head last week and 2,953 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing 300 to 550 pounds were $2 to $3 higher, 550 to 650 pounds were steady to $1 lower, 650 to 1000 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers weighing 300 to 600 pounds were $1 to $2.50 higher, 600 to 950 pounds were $1.50 to $2.50 higher. Slaughter cows were not tested. Trade was active. Demand was good. Receipts were 76% 600 pounds and over, 23% 600 pounds and under, and less than 1% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 61% steers and 39% heifers.
