The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, KS, reported receipts of 3,938 head of cattle April 13, compared with 5,272 head last week and 1,434 head last year, according to the Federal-State USDA Market News Service, Dodge City, KS.

Feeder steers 350 to 550 pounds were steady to weak; 550 to 700 pounds, $1 to $3 higher; 700 to 800 pounds, $1 to $2 lower; 800 to 900 pounds, $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers 350 to 600 pounds were steady to weak; 600 to 700 pounds, steady; 700 to 900 pounds, $2 to $3 higher. Slaughter cows were $2 higher. Trade was active. Demand was good. Receipts included 68% 600 pounds and over, 31% 600 pounds and under and less than 1% cows and bulls. Feeder supply included 56% steers and 44% heifers.
