The public is invited to an open house, at the University of Nebraska South Central Research and Extension Center (SCREC), Friday, Jan. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the office headquarters near Clay Center.

The University of Nebraska is proud to work with the people of south central Nebraska. Despite the reconfiguration of boundary lines for the Extension districts across the state, due to recent budget cuts, the university remains committed to serving clientele, in south central Nebraska. "Although the research and Extension faculty will be housed out of Lincoln, they will each maintain a research and Extension responsibility for south central Nebraska," explained Alan Baquet, SCREC district director. In addition, the South Central Research and Extension Center farm will be maintained and valuable research will continue to be conducted there. "The clientele, in south central Nebraska, will continue to receive valuable research and education information just as they have in the past," said Baquet.

In recognition of the long history of cooperation with citizens of south central Nebraska, and to affirm a commitment to continued service, the University of Nebraska invites all south central Nebraska clientele to the open house. The office headquarters is located 4.5 miles west of Clay Center, on Spur 18D.
