The Oklahoma Pork Council announces the arrival of the newest member of its team.

Abby Payne, a native of Beaver, OK has joined OPC as the coordinator of marketing and promotions. Payne recently graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in agricultural communications.

Payne served as the communications intern for the National Pork Producers Council last summer, in Des Moines. While at Oklahoma State University, Payne was an officer for the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow and Alpha Zeta, served as chairman of a Homecoming Steering Committee and was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

"Having interned at NPPC, I appreciate the success of checkoff-funded programs in place for pork producers. I am sincerely excited to work for Oklahoma agriculturists and contribute to the continued success of such a progressive organization," Payne said.

Oklahoma Pork Council Executive Director Roy Lee Lindsey Jr. said he is excited about having Payne as a part of the Oklahoma Pork Council team.

"I am excited about having her on board and am confident that Oklahoma Pork Council will benefit from her skills and dedication to Oklahoma agriculture," he said.

Payne's responsibilities will include retail and foodservice marketing and promotions.
