The OKC West Livestock market, Inc., El Reno, OK, Oct. 4, reported estimated receipts of 3,800, compared to 2,327 the previous week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, OK.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and few feeder heifers sold steady to $2 higher. Demand was good for feeders. Steer and heifer calves were steady with moderate demand. Quality was plain to average, weith few attractive calves. Feeder cattle in medium to fleshy conditions; calves in mostly fleshy condition. Weigh-ups were average to full.

The supply consisted of 55% calves and yearlings over 600 lbs.,., 33% calves yearlings under 600 lbs.,., and 12% cows and bulls. Heifers comprised 39% of the feeder and calf supply.

Slaughter cows sold $1to $1.50 lower. Slaughter bulls were $1 lower. Packer demand was light to moderate. A total of 275 cows and bulls sold with 55% going to packers. The cow sale ended with a 200 head dispersal. This consignment consisted of top quality Angus, BWF and RWF replacement cows and 4- to 8-year-old spring calving cows bred to high quality Angus and Brangus bulls.

Medium and large frame 2 calves: 400 to 425 lbs., 91.00 to 94.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 80.00 to 86.00; Yearlings: 700 to 800 lbs., 77.50 to 83.00; 800 to 875 lbs., 76.75 to 81.00; 935 lbs., 73.00.
