The OKC West Livestock Market, El Reno, OK, Sept.13, reported estimated receipts of 3,600 head of cattle, compared with 2,238 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, OK

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady. Feeder heifers were not well tested, but a few sold $2 lower. Steer and heifer calves were steady. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $1 lower. Demand moderate to good for feeder cattle, good for calves. Packer demand was moderate for light numbers. Quality was plain to average, with feeder heifers mostly on the plain end. Weighups were average to full. Feeder cattle were in medium to fleshy, conditions, with a few, in thin flesh. Calves were in mostly fleshy, conditions. Supply consisted of 72% yearlings over 600 pounds, 23% calves and light yearlings under 600 pounds and 5% cows and bulls. Heifers comprised 32% of the feeder and calf supply. A total of 170 cows and bulls were sold, with 35% going to packers.

Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 400 to 450 lbs., 94.00 to 103.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 84.25 to 90.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 80.00 to 89.25; 700 to 750 lbs., 80.50 to 82.00; 750 to 800 lbs., 75.50 to 80.50; 800 to 875 lbs., 75.00 to 78.50; 900 to 925 lbs., 72.50 to 73.50. Replacement cows: Pre-tested for Bang's, pregnancy and age, medium and large frame 1, average, blacks, 2 to 4 months bred, 5 to 8 years old, 950 to 1100 lbs., 520.00 to 570.00; 9 to 10 years old, 900 to 1000 lbs., 375.00 to 405.00.

Slaughter cows: Boners, 16 head, 80 to 85% lean, 850 to 1575 lbs., 37.50 to 40.50; high dressing, 41.00 to 43.00; low dressing, 35.00 to 36.75. Lean, 23 head, 85 to 90%, 850 to 1500 lbs., 35.00 to 38.00; high dressing, 38.50; low dressing, 31.00 to 35.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 8 head, 1450 to 2200 lbs., 47.00 to 48.00; high dressing, 51.00 to 52.50; low dressing, 45.50 to 47.00.
