Mycogen Seeds has introduced 17 new corn hybrids, with a range of characteristics and special traits for a variety of conditions for the 2000 growing season.
Among the new releases are 14 NatureGard Bt hybrids with European corn borer (ECB) resistance, four of which also are tolerant to imidazolinone herbicides.
"This year's portfolio of corn hybrids includes the latest technology and the newest genetics that Mycogen has to offer," says Maynard Ochs, regional agronomist for Mycogen Seeds. "We have more ECB-resistant hybrids than ever before, our conventional hybrids are strong, and the CLEARFIELD technology with resistance to imidazolinone herbicides i s available in some of our highest yielding hybrids."
Along with its full lineup of corn hybrids, Mycogen also offers Silage-Specific corn hybrids, TMF alfalfa varieties, sunflower hybrids, soybean varieties and grain sorghum hybrids.
--2051: A new, very early maturing hybrid, with excellent emergence vigor in cool soils and high test grain weight at harvest. It is a 75 relative maturity (RM).
--2052: An early maturing NGBt1 conversion of 2051 that is well suited to extremely short-season environments. It is a 75 RM.

--2242: A new hybrid with strong stalks, very good drought-stress tolerance and wide adaptation across both marginal and highly productive soils. It is a 86 RM.
--2249IMI: An NGBt1 and IMI conversion of 2250 with moderately flexing ears, strong ECB protection, and tolerance to imidazolinone herbicides. It is a 89 RM.
--2424: An NGBt1 conversion of 2395 with semi-flex ears, wide adaptation and high-test grain weight that is well suited to early planting and reduced tillage applications. It is a 95 RM.
--2525: An NGBt1 conversion of 2500 with strong adaptation to high plant densities. 2525 offers excellent yield-for-maturity in well-drained, highly productive soils. It is a 100 RM.
--25441MI: An NGBt1 and IMI conversion of 2545 with semi-flex ears, excellent stalks, very good tolerance to gray leaf spot and imidazolinone herbicide tolerance. It is a 101 RM.
--2566: An NGBt1 conversion of 2569 with excellent root strength, good drought-stress tolerance and wide adaptation across the West. It is a 102 RM.
--2592: An NGBt1 conversion of 2593 with very good fall staygreen, good drought-stress tolerance and very good adaptation to dryland production in northeast Nebraska. It is a 103 RM.
--2652: A new flex-ear hybrid that offers wide adaptation across soils types and fertility levels. Excellent yield potential for dryland and irrigated production. It is a 106 RM.
--2657: A NGBt1 hybrid with strong stalks and roots, excellent drought-stress tolerance and very good fall staygreen. It is a 106 RM.
--2717: A NGBt1 hybrid with fixed ears, strong stalks and exceptional root strength, best suited to high fertility and irrigation. It is a 110 RM.
--2717IMI: A NGBt1 hybrid with fixed ears, strong stalks and tolerance to imidazolinone herbicides that is best suited to high fertility, high plant densities and irrigation. It is a 110 RM.
--2799IMI: A NGBt1 conversion of 7250 with wide adaptation, exceptional late-season plant integrity, and tolerance to imidazolinone herbicides. it is a 114 RM.
--2854: A NGBt1 conversion of 2853 with superior late-season plant health that is widely adapted across the full-season growing areas of the western Corn Belt. It is a 116 RM.
