WASHINGTON--The U.S. Department ofAgriculture on May 14 named Derryl McLaren as Iowa State Executive Director for the Farm Service Agency State Office.
McLaren owns and operates a 4,000-acre corn and soybean farm in Farragut. Until being named SED, he was an Iowa State Senator and Senate Agriculture Chairman closely involved with state farming issues. McLaren has held leadership roles with various organizations, including the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and the National Corn Growers Association.
He has a Bachelor's degree in agriculture business from Iowa State University.
