Limousin breeders, from across the country, brought their very best to the American Royal Livestock Show, in Kansas City, MO.

The Level I Medal of Excellence (MOE) show, featuring 70 females and 26 bulls, provided a snapshot of the tremendous quality and intense competition, which can be expected at the breed's upcoming fall and winter shows. Gregg Alsup, Fair Grove, MO, judged this outstanding event.

Taking grand champion female honors, from her Division V, spot was AUTO Joy 253J. The September, 1999, daughter of Wulf's Guardian, out of EXLR Luvly 087F, is owned by Magness Land & Cattle, Platteville, CO, and Bluedog's Cattle Co., Garvette, AR.

Brittainy Barton, Jarrell, TX, led her grand champion female in the junior show to the reserve grand champion female position in the open show. EXLR Molly 621K, a January, 2000, daughter of EXLR Dakota, out of EXLR Molly 343G, was the Division IV champion.

MAGS Kaptain America, an April, 2000, son of EXLR Dakota, out of MAGS Gloria, was the grand champion bull. The Division III champion is owned by Magness Land & Cattle.

Express Ranches, Yukon, OK, and Summers Limousin, Independence, MO, had the Division V and reserve grand champion bull. EXLR Sensation 185J is an April 2000, son of Wulf's Guardian, out of Wulf's Dolly 4085D.

The Division I champion female was MAGS Mandarin 118L, a January, 2001, daughter of EXLR Dakota, owned by Magness Land & Cattle and P Bar S Limousin, Sand Springs, OK. Reserve honors in the division went to MAGS Mandarin 425L, a February, 2001, daughter of EXLR Limited Edition owned by Magness Land & Cattle.

Express Ranches; Summers Limousin; and Williams Limousin, Elsberry, MO teamed up to show the Division III champion female. EXLR Camera Ready 298K is a June, 2000, daughter of Wulf's Dawson. Reserve honors in the Division went to Morgan Ratliff, Westphalia, KS, and Express Ranches. TUBB Katey 059K is an April, 2000, daughter of L7 'N Seven.

Magness Land & Cattle joined Andrews Land & Cattle Co., Olympia, WA to exhibit the Division IV reserve champion. ALCM Key Code is a February, 2000, daughter of DVFC Cookie Monster.

EXLR Luvly 4100J, an October, 1999 daughter of EXLR Polled Benchmark, was the Division V reserve champion for Express Ranches and Double Creek Limousin, Springtown, TX.
