JC Livestock, Inc., Junction City, KS, reported receipts of 861 head of cattle July 22, compared to 257 head last week and 852 head last year, according to the Federal-State USDA Market News Service, Dodge City, KS.

Compared to last week's light receipts, feeder steers 400 to 700 pounds were $2 to $3 higher; 700 to 1,000 pounds, steady. Feeder heifers 400 to 900 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Slaughter cows were $1 to $2 higher. Trade was active. Demand was good.

Receipts included 79% 600 pounds and over, 19% 600 pounds and under and 2% slaughter cows and bulls. Feeder supply included 47 % steers and 53% heifers.
