JC Livestock, Inc., Junction City, KS, reported receipts of 1,491 head of cattle, compared to 1,630 head last week and 1,108 head last year, according to the Federal-State USDA Market News Service, Dodge City, KS.

Compared to last week, feeder steers 300 to 600 pounds were $1 to $2 higher; 600 to 750 pounds, steady, on a light test; 750 to 950 pounds, steady to weak. Feeder heifers 300 to 650 pounds were $1 higher; 650 to 850 pounds, steady to weak. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 lower.

Trade was active. Demand was good.

Receipts included 72% 600 pounds and over, 27% 600 pounds and under and 1% slaughter cows. The feeder supply was 54% steers and 46% heifers.
