The Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, MO, reported receipts of 750 head of cattle Jan. 31, compared with 5,536 head last week and 3,040 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Joplin, MO.

Compared to last week, there were not enough sales of any one class for a good price comparison. Supply was light. Steers made up approximately 54% of the run and heifers 45%. Offerings over 600 pounds totaled about 31%.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 105.50 to 119.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 97.00 to 108.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 94.00 to 105.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 83.00 to 89.00; 700 to 805 lbs., 79.00 to 84.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 450 to 600 lbs., 85.50 to 92.50; lot, 750 lbs., 71.50. Holsteins, large frame 2, lot, 652 lbs., 70.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 89.00 to 99.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 91.50 to 97.50; 500 to 600 lbs., 82.00 to 92.00; 600 to 665 lbs., 78.50 to 82.00; lot, 771 lbs., 71.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 450 to 500 lbs., 76.00 to 86.50.
