Beginning in the summer of 2001, one-quarter of a million guests each year are expected to take a step back in time, in downtown Moline, IL, to experience the lifestyle and heritage represented by a 1950s John Deere dealership.

The John Deere Foundation announced that a state of Illinois tourism development grant, combined with support from Deere & Company, will create a John Deere Collectors Center, in Moline.

The John Deere Collectors Center will be managed by the John Deere Foundation and will include a variety of programs targeted at sustaining the heritage of John Deere.

For a nominal fee, anyone can become a Collectors Center member and gain access to certain member services not otherwise available. In addition, the 1950s dealership that will serve as the Collectors Center facility will be open to the public.
