Eastern Kansas

A total of 518 individuals, from six states including 49 Kansas counties, participated in activities of the annual horse field day at Buchman's Double B Ranch, Alta Vista.

The Winfield FFA Chapter topped the senior team division of the Horse Judging Contest, kicking off the day's events. Second place went to Wellington, followed by Winfield B. Seaman of Topeka and Mankato teams.

Kelsi Grow, Winfield, was the high individual senior horse judging contestant, with second place going to Nicole Leis, Winfield. Ranking third through fifth, respectively, were Carrie Davis, Wellington; Sara Cooper, Seaman; and Heather Starks, Wellington.

Junior team division was won by Sumner County, followed by Morris County One, Riley County, Clay County and Morris County Two.

Jason Scott, Riley County, was the top junior individual horse judging contestant. Second place went to Kaylee Graves, Sumner County; followed by Ashton Archer, Chase County; Jacob Allen, Sumner County; and Anna Poovey, Sumner County.

Kate Bluebaugh, Haven, won the non-reasons junior individual horse judging division, with Kelsi Grow, Winfield; Jason Scott, Carrie Davis and Ashton Archer rating second through fifth, respectively.
