The Highmore Auction Barn, Highmore, SD, June 22, reported receipts of 370 head, compared with 72 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Services, Sioux Falls, SD.

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were $2 to $3 higher. Slaughter bulls $2 higher. No comparison from a week ago in any weight class to compare the few heifer feeder cattle offered June 22. Expecting around 1,000 receipts for next Thursday.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 20 head, 684 lbs., 88.75; 69 head, 753 lbs., 83.20; 77 head, 952 to 975 (968); 73.10.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1615 to 1730 lbs., 43.00 to 45.25; Boners, 80 to 85% lean; 1190 to 1535 lbs., 43.75 to 46.75; Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1630 lbs., 42.75 to 46.75.

Returning to the country: Heifers, 59.00 to 64.50; heiferettes, 50.00 to 58.50; young cows 45.25 to 50.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1495 to 2410 lbs., 52.75 to 57.75.
