Vineyard Field Day 2002 will help beginning and advanced grape growers learn the latest and most effective practices to grow grapes in Nebraska.

The forum will be held from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. July 6 at Mac's Creek Vineyards and Winery in Lexington, said Paul Read, University of Nebraska viticulturist and a forum presenter.

The forum offers participants the chance to talk to experienced wine and grape industry professionals, hands-on demonstrations and the chance to walk through the 12-acre vineyard, Read said.

Presenters' topics will include: Trellising, Canopy Management and Irrigation Systems; Grape Cultivars that Survive in Nebraska; Vineyard Equipment Presentation; and Insect and Disease Protection Spraying Practices.
