LOS ANGELES (B)--The creation of a global organization that would attempt to coordinate cross-border environmental protections and make it easier for countries to implement international trade deals is being proposed by a top adviser to Al Gore's presidential campaign.

Laura Tyson, who is a former Clinton Administration economic adviser and is now advising Gore, told reporters Aug. 14 that she doesn't know whether the Democratic presidential candidate would back the idea.
