The Goldthwaite sheep and goat auction, Goldthwaite, TX, May 25, reported receipts of 2,460 head, compared to 3,040 head last week and 4,312 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, TX.

Stock and feeder lambs were $3 to $5 lower. Slaughter lambs were steady to firm. Stock and feeder goats were steady. Slaughter goats were mostly steady. Demand was good. The supply included 30% sheep, including 250 lambs.

Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1, new crop, 40 to 60 lbs., 80.00 to 87.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 78.00 to 82.50.

Stock ewes: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 100 to 150 lbs., 60.00 to 70.00; set 76 lbs., 84.50; pairs, 32.50 to 47.50.

Stock bucks: 150.00 to 195.00 per head.

Stock and feeder Barbados: Lambs, 20 to 40 lbs., 75.00 to 80.00. Ewes, 50 to 105 lbs., 58.00 to 75.00. Bucks, 82 to 100 per head.

Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime, 65 to 150 lbs., 70.00 to 78.00. Good and Choice, 80 to 115 lbs., 60.00 to 65.00.

Slaughter ewes: Good and Choice, 35.00 to 40.00. Utility and Good, 80 to 150 lbs., 40.00 to 55.00.

Slaughter bucks: 180 to 220 lbs., 30.00 to 40.00.
