The Goldthwaite sheep and goat auction Aug. 25 reported receipts of 2,643 sheep and goats, compared to 3,060 head last week and 6,328 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, TX.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady. Slaughter lambs were $4 higher. Slaughter ewes were $3 lower. Stock and feeder goats were steady. Slaughter nannies were $3 to $5 higher. Slaughter billies and muttons were steady. Demand was good. Trade was active. The supply included around 25% sheep, with nearly 500 lambs.
