The summary for Georgia cattle acutions for the week ending Aug. 2 totaled 10,200 head, compared to 9,400 head last week and 11,700 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Thomasville, GA.

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were $1 higher. Bulls were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 higher. Steer calves were $1 to $2 higher. Heifer calves were steady to $2 higher. Replacement cows were steady to $1 higher. The offering was composed of 14% steers over 600 pounds and 36% under 600 pounds, 9% heifers over 600 pounds and 25% under 600 pounds, 6% feeder cows, 9% slaughter cows and 1% bulls.
