The Four State Stockyards, Diamond, MO, reported receipts of 2,100 head of cattle Sept. 18 and 19, compared with 2,829 head last week and 2,619 head last year.

Compared with last week, feeder cattle under 600 pounds were $3 to $6 higher; over 600 pounds, $1 to $3 higher. Cows and bulls were fully steady. There was good buyer attendance. There was a very active market on take-home cows.

Feeder steers: 300 to 400 lbs., 103.00 to 130.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 96.00 to 110.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 88.00 to 95.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 84.00 to 95.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 80.00 to 87.00. Holsteins, 300 to 400 lbs., 85.00 to 90.00; 400 to 600 lbs., 75.00 to 85.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 67.00 to 71.50.

Feeder heifers: 300 to 400 lbs., 94.00 to 105.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 85.00 to 100.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 83.00 to 90.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 77.00 to 86.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 74.00 to 80.00.

Slaughter cows: Breaking Utility, 2 to 4, 40.00 to 47.00. High Cutter and boning Utility, 1 to 2, 32.00 to 35.00. Others, 36.00 to 40.00; high dressing, up to 50.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1150 to 2100 lbs., 44.00 to 50.00; high dressing, up to 55.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 3 to 7 years old, 975 to 1300 lbs., 2nd to 3rd stage bred, 500.00 to 800.00 per head.

Cow-calf pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 4 years old to short solids, 900 to 1200 lbs., with baby to 350-lb. calf, 600.00 to 1025.00 per pair.
