The Flint Hills Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council recognizes that rural communities have very limited resources to accomplish local economic development projects.

In response to that need, the RC&D Council is sponsoring a three-day workshop that will give communities and organizations a tool to develop local funding to meet their needs.

The foundation development workshop will be held May 2 to 4, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the City Library, in Peabody. Registration is $150 and includes all training materials.

Course instructor for the workshop is Dr. Don Udell, president, Resource Development Specialists, Inc., Oklahoma City, OK. Dr. Udell received his bachelor and master's degrees from the University of Arizona and his doctorate from Arizona State University.

The workshop is for volunteers, board members and staff of not-for-profit organizations dedicated to providing resources to serve the community. Participation in this course will help prepare a person for the challenge of basic foundation organization and fundraising.

For more information or to request a registration form, please contact Bruce Wells, Flint Hills RC&D coordinator, at 316-273-6321.
