KANSAS CITY (B)--ConAgra Grocery Products Co., an Archbold, Ohio, firm, is voluntarily recalling about 290,000 pounds of chicken with rice soup because it may contain eggs and wheat flour that are undeclared on the label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a release.

Wheat flour and eggs are both known allergens. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to either of these items run the risk of possible allergic reactions if they consume these products.

The product being recalled is 18.75-ounce cans of "Healthy Choice Soups, Chicken with Rice." Each can bears the establishment number "P91" inside the USDA seal of inspection and a product code beginning with "08NG."

The product was produced on Aug. 21 and was distributed to retail and wholesale stores nationwide.

The problem was discovered when the company informed USDA after receiving customer complaints.
