The Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, SD, June 1, showed receipts of 666 head, compared to 465 head one year ago, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, SD.

No trend was applicable, because the last reported sale was May 7. The supply included 22% feeder cattle, 67% slaughter cows and bulls and 12% bred heifers and cow-calf pairs. Steers made up 37% of the run and heifers 63%, with 66% of the cattle were more than 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 444 lbs., 114.00; 5 head, 614 lbs., 98.50; 10 head, 736 lbs., 90.75.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 16 head, 552 to 567 lbs., 91.25 to 97.25 (94.91); 725 to 747 lbs., 86.00 to 86.25 (86.21).

Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1150 to 1660 lbs., 45.00 to 49.50; high dressing, 53.00; low dressing, down to 44.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 825 to 1300 lbs., 39.00 to 45.50; high dressing, 48.50; low dressing, down to 33.00.

Replacement females: 2 years old, 70.00 to 78.00, few head, 80.00; heiferettes, 60.00 to 68.00; feeding cows, 50.00 to 59.00.

Bred heifers: 32 head, black, to calve spring of 2002, 700.00 per head.

Cow-calf pairs: 41 head, young, black, with black calves, 1118 lbs., 1105.00 per pair; 10 head, short, solid black, with black calves, 1214 lbs., 805.00 per pair.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 1185 to 2210 lbs., 54.00 to 58.50; high dressing, 63.50.
