Four Fairview FFA Chapter members have been nominated by the National FFA Organization to be winners of the American FFA Degree.

Kristi Ewing, Brandon Fast, Stacey Sproul and Jackie Pembrook were nominated.

This honor recognizes demonstrated leadership abilities and outstanding achievements in agricultural business, production and processing and service programs. These members will be receiving the degree at the 73rd National FFA Convention, in Louisville, KY.

Only 200 of the 453,902 FFA members have advanced through chapter and state FFA degrees to earn this national degree. To advance to this position, members have to fill out applications for the national level. The members are then judged on their achievements and awards and are selected by a committee.

Ewing is the daughter of Troy and Paula Ewing and is a student at Southwestern University. Fast is the son of Larry and Ann Fast. Sproul is the daughter of Wally and Kathy Sproul. Pembrook is the daughter of Lonnie and LaDonna Pembrook. Each member's degree consisted of beef production.

The award winners will be recognized by the 49,000 members expected to attend this convention. They also will be able to attend the numerous speaking events, at the convention, and attend the many motivational leadership and career development workshops.--Kendra Brashears, Fairview FFA Chapter reporter.
