Thirteen Fairview FFA Chapter members recently attended National FFA Convention, in Louisville, KY.

Members attending were: Kendra Brashears, Katresa Brashears, Miranda Cansler, April Nightengale, Angie Voth, Laici Wedel, Chelsea Chill, Nick Holdeman, Derek Elwell, Drew Elwell, Kraston Colby, Ricky Rankin and Eric Schmidt.

The convention had several action packed sessions and motivational workshops to attend. The Fairview FFA Chapter had the opportunity to attend a session with a motivational speaker of Deborah Norville, from "Inside Edition." They also had the opportunity to hear the retiring address of National FFA Officer Jodee Ruppel, entitled "Peanut Butter and a Mirror."

Many contests also took place at the convention. The national Prepared Public Speaking Contest was held, with Kristen Stacy, Otaha, OK, placing in the top four. Robin Sites, Mountain View-Gotebo, was candidate for a National FFA office. Sites was the state southeast district vice president last year.

Fairview FFA Chapter members also had the opportunity to visit other sites, in Louisville. They also visited the National FFA Center, in Indianapolis, IN.
