Receipts at Dodge City Winter Livestock, Inc., Dodge City, KS, July 23, totaled 2,874 head, compared to 3,823 last week and 2,115 last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, KS.

Compared with last week, feeder steers and heifers weighing 300 to 700 pounds were in a very limited supply and $2 to $3 higher. Steers weighing 700 to 800 pounds were firm to $1 higher, those weighing 800 to 900 pounds were steady to weak, and a few weighing 900 to 950 pounds were firm to $2 higher. Heifers weighing 700 to 800 pounds were firm to $2 higher, and those weighing 800 pounds and over were not tested. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were firm. Trade was very active. Demand was very good. Receipts were 80% 600 pounds and over, 17% 600 pounds and under, and 3% cows and bulls with 85 head selling early.
