The Cattleman's Livestock Commission Co., Dalhart, TX, reported receipts of 2,301 head of cattle Dec. 10, compared to 2,380 head last week and 1,842 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, TX.

Compared to last week, feeder steers under 500 pounds were steady; over 500 pounds, $2 to $3 higher. Feeder heifers were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter cows were steady, on light test. The supply included around 3% slaughter cows and bulls, 40% feeder cattle over 600 pounds and the balance mostly feeder cattle under 600 pounds. The feeder supply consisted of approximately 61% steers and 39% heifers.
