The Cattleman's Livestock Commission Co., Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 953 head March 25, compared to 3,456 head last week and 2,297 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were firm. Feeder heifers were firm to $2 higher, instances 300 to 450 pounds were $4 higher. Slaughter cows were $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were not well tested. Trade and demand was moderate to good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350- to 850-pound feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 6% of the offering and feeders 94%. The feeder supply included 57% steers and 43% heifers, with nearly 49% of the run over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 143.00 to 145.00; two lots 414 to 422 lbs., thin 147.00; few 500 to 600 lbs., 121.00 to 126.00, lot 522 lbs., thin 133.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 113.00 to 117.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 104.50 to 107.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 96.50 to 99.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 424 lbs., 131.00; two packages 520 to 559 lbs., thin 117.00 to 126.00; package 643 lbs., 108.50. Medium and large frame 2, package 455 lbs., 110.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 100.00 to 103.00.

Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, lot 349 lbs., thin 126.00; 400 to 500 lbs., thin 120.00 to 127.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 109.00 to 113.00, package 510 lbs., thin 115.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 103.50 to 106.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 95.50 to 96.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 114.00 to 115.00; lot 483 lbs., 111.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 106.00 to 107.50. Medium and large frame 2, package 583 lbs., 103.00. Heiferettes, two lots 688 to 790 lbs., 81.00 to 86.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1500 to 1800 lbs., 59.00 to 63.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 55.00 to 58.00; low dressing, 48.00 to 51.00.

Dairy cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1200 to 1400 lbs., 57.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1100 to 1500 lbs., 52.50 to 55.00; low dressing, 46.00 to 49.50.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, Young to middle-aged, 1100 to 1250 lbs., 7 to 9 months bred, 920.00 to 960.00 per head.
