The Cattleman's Livestock Commission Co., Dalhart, TX, reported receipts of 1,090 head of cattle, compared with 1,916 head last week and 2,946 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, TX.

Compared to last week, a few feeder steers were mostly steady. Feeder heifers were $1 to $2 higher. Trade was good. Demand was good. Bulk of the supply was medium and large frame1 to 2 300- to 550-pound steers and heifers. Supply included around 1% slaughter cows and bulls, 30% feeder cattle over 600 pounds and the balance mostly feeder cattle under 600 pounds. The feeder supply consisted of approximately 37% steers and 63% heifers.

Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package, 278 lbs., 112.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 93.00 to 108.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 89.00 to 98.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 85.00 to 87.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, package, 250 lbs., 110.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 105.00 to 116.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 99.00 to 109.00; package, 410 lbs., 111.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 85.00 to 89.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 87.00 to 89.00; package, 722 lbs., 79.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 95.00 to 103.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 90.00 to 97.50; 600 to 700 lbs., 77.00 to 83.25; package, 788 lbs., 75.50; 800 to 900 lbs., 66.50 to 70.00.
