Trimble, recently introduced the AgGPS 160 portable computer, which can increase productivity of growers, custom applicators, contractors and agribusiness consultants by adding enhanced guidance, field mapping, soil sampling and data logging capabilities to their existing Trimble agricultural equipment.
The AgGPS 160 is waterproof and drop-proof to handle extreme agricultural conditions. It can operate in temperatures ranging from -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and has up to 40 hours of battery life. A sunlight-readable backlit display provides a clear view while mapping fields, applying ag materials or planting in daytime or nighttime conditions. The computer also uses the Microsoft Windows CE operating system, or can run third-party WinCE software.
