The Clovis Livestock Auction Co. reported receipts of 2,500 head of cattle Nov. 29, compared with 2,371 head last week and 1,885 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Clovis, OK.

Compared to two week ago, steers were steady to $2 higher. Heifers were steady. Slaughter cows were $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady to $1.50 higher. Trade was active. Demand was good. Bulk of the supply was medium and large frame 1 to 2 200- to 900-pound feeder steers and 200- to 900-pound feeder heifers. The supply included 55% 600 pounds and under, 10% 600 pounds and over and 35% cows and bulls. The feeder supply consisted of approximately 55% steers and 45% heifers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 300 lbs., 135.00 to 141.50; 300 to 400 lbs., 121.00 to 136.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 105.00 to 112.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 96.00 to 106.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 85.00 to 92.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 80.00 to 85.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 76.00 to 82.75. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1300 to 2100 lbs., 50.00 to 53.50; low dressing, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 43.50 to 49.50.

Breeding bulls: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 850 to 1100 lbs., 52.00 to 56.50.
