SYDNEY (B)--GrainCorp, Ltd., a bulk handler in Australia's New South Wales state (NSW), said in a statement Dec. 14 it has received a total of 6.049 million tonnes of grain in the 1999-2000 (October-September) winter-crop harvest to date after receiving 856,986 tonnes in the week leading up to Dec. 13.

GrainCorp said harvest 1999-2000 is starting to wind down across northern and central NSW as grain receivals reach 75% of a forecast 8 million tonne delivery across NSW and Queensland this season.

In the state's north, 2.2 million tonnes have now been delivered, with the majority of receivals now limited to grain which had been stored on farm.

In the central area, 1.7 million tonnes have been delivered. The majority of central areas are expected to have finished harvesting by the end of this week or early next week, though some sites will still receive grain through to after Christmas.

In the south, more than 2 million tonnes has been received, placing it on track to meet a forecast 2.5 million tonnes this season.
