The American Sheep Industry Association's board of directors have unanimously approved the association's fiscal year 2003 wool budget.

The overwhelming approval puts the stamp of approval on a $2.25 million budget that will be used in key wool-oriented areas, such as market and product development, market research, international marketing, marketing accessibility, technology, raw wool quality improvement, production, quality assurance, wool outreach for state-initiated activities and producer communications.

In a separate action, the directors also approved a dues assessment rate of three cents per stock sheep and $5 per member, the same rate that was used for FY 2002. Also approved was a dues budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
